Introduction

Rripangu Yirdaki is proud to offer the opportunity for didjeridu aficionados and other people from all around the world to be our guests in our Arnhem Land community.

On a fee-paying basis and subject to availability, guests may arrange with us to undertake a culturally oriented Arnhem Land adventure where you will have the opportunity to advance your didjeridu playing skills as well as to expand your understanding of Aboriginal culture.

Awareness

Try your hand at spear fishing, hunting small game, searching for and gathering bush honey, digging for wild yams and collecting wild berries and fruit.

How about the thrill in going bush with Djalu to find suitable trees for crafting into yirdaki? Sitting underneath the shade of a huge banyan tree and receiving private tuition from Djalu in the finer techniques of playing yirdaki? Or the excitement of sports fishing in the majestic seas of the Gove Peninsula with Djalu's family in collaboration with the Walkabout Lodge? Participate in bunggul (traditional dance and ceremony), or listen in on our language – maybe you can pick up a few words before you leave. Whatever takes your fancy, Rripangu Yirdaki (as your host) can assure you that your time in our community will be full of wonder and adventure. Guests may book their accommodation in the Walkabout Lodge, a well-presented and delightful hotel with all modern conveniences.
